On 15 April 2016 the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA) launched its campaign for 2016-17: Healthy Workplaces for All Ages. CEFS is an official campaign partner. The campaign succeeds the 2015-16 campaign (“Healthy Workplaces : Managing Stress”), of which CEFS was also an official campaign partner.
Objectives of the campaign “Healthy Workplaces for All Ages”
The 2016–17 Healthy Workplaces Campaign has four key objectives:
- promoting sustainable work and healthy ageing from the start of the working life;
- preventing health problems throughout the working life;
- providing ways for employers and workers to manage occupational safety and health in the context of an ageing workforce;
- and encouraging the exchange of information and good practice.
Relevance for the EU sugar sector
As in other sectors of the EU economy, the workforce of the European sugar sector is ageing. Retirement ages are rising and working lives are likely to become longer. Workers and companies alike will need to manage this development.
CEFS’ Campaign Pledge
CEFS is committed to promoting the management of an ageing workforce at every opportunity, in particular through its Social Dialogue with EFFAT. CEFS is committed to properly communicating the benefits of the campaign to its members.
